NDF CO. HANDBOOK

Being a competitive dancer requires a serious commitment by both the dancer and their family. The NDF Juniors/Seniors will attend 2 conventions and 3 regional competitions held in the Tri-State area, and 1- National during the summer. All scheduled conventions/competitions are mandatory. Company dancers are required to compete in a minimum of 2 group routines. NDF Director will determine number of groups dancers are eligible to compete in. Parents will advise Director the maximum number of groups their dancer is able to be a member of.  Company dancers are required to participate from September 2022 through Nationals 2023.  Company members are expected to fulfill their commitment.  Dancers are required to attend all scheduled classes and extra rehearsals if necessary. Company classes include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical/Contemporary technique classes as well as separate Choreography classes. Private lessons are available for both technique and solo choreography.

ATTENDANCE

Good attendance is essential for the advancement in dance. Dancers are required to attend all scheduled classes and extra rehearsals if necessary. Dancers missing more than 3 classes may be suspended from competition. Excused absences are for illness, family emergency, and mandatory school function. Unexcused absences are homework, school projects, birthday parties, slumber parties, concerts, sporting events, etc.

COMPANY CLASSES

Required Company classes include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical/Contemporary technique classes as well as separate Choreography classes. Private lessons are available for both technique and solo choreography.

TARDINESS

It is essential for dancers to be on time and prepared for class. Each class begins with a warmup designed to prevent injury. Dancers arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to sit out the class.

EARLY PICK UP

Dancers are expected to remain for the entirety of their classes. If early dismissal is necessary, please advise teacher at beginning of class.

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP

Please drop off 5 minutes before class and pick up promptly.

ATTIRE

Dancers are required to be properly dressed in dancewear. Absolutely no street clothes including T-shirts, loose shorts or baggy clothes.  Hair must be worn securely tied back from face in a bun or ponytail.

Ballet class: Black leotard, Pink Tights and Pink Ballet Slippers. Hair in a bun.

Students may be asked to sit out if not properly dressed.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

We have a No Tolerance Policy for Gossip, Rumors, Profanity, or a Negative Attitude.

Dancers will always Respect their teachers and each other.

We do not allow gum chewing in class

Absolutely no food or drinks are to be brought into the studio. Water bottles and healthy snacks are to remain in the dressing room area.

TUITION

NDF offers the highest quality dance instruction available which require a certain financial commitment.

$150/month

$15 per group routine

Private lessons $30 per ½ hour

All payments are due on or before the 1st of each month. Payments made after the 10th will be assessed a $15 late fee.

Tuition is based on 11 monthly payments commencing in September and concluding after Nationals in July.

Company Dancers are required to attend all Master Classes by guest teachers, an additional charge may apply.

CANCELATION

A $200 fee will be charged to re-choreograph each duo/trio or group routine a dancer is in, if a dancer does not fulfill their commitment through 2023 Nationals.

CONVENTION/COMPETITION FEES

Competition/Convention Fees are due 60 days before event.

There will be a $5.00 administration fee added to each entry per regional competition, $10.00 national competition

COSTUMES

Company costumes range between $120.00 to $200.00

Custom costumes are additional.

$75 deposit per costume, per routine is due October 1st. Costume balance is due November 15th. Balance will be billed after costumes are selected.

MISCELLANEOUS FEES

Parents will be required to purchase a team jacket and bag, specific make-up, costumes, tights and shoes.

Families are responsible for their transportation and lodging.

REFUND POLICY

NDF Director reserves the right to dismiss any dancer, at any time from Nancy’s Dance Factory. If a dancer/family is dismissed or quits company no refunds will be given and are not limited to tuition, costumes, privates, or competition fees.

COMPETITION ETIQUETTE

Dancers are expected to always support each other. Always display good sportsmanship and be respectful towards other teams.

Parents are not to approach competition director, staff or judges at any time. If a problem arises bring conflict to NDF director or teachers’ attention immediately. Please advise family and friends they are not to take videos or flash pictures at any time. Videotaping may result in disqualification.

NDF Dance Company Letter of Commitment

This correspondence serves as an agreement between you and NDF Dance Company Director, Haley Rodolfy. Your child has been selected to be a member of the NDF Dance Company, an honor and a privilege.  Your signature indicates you have read and fully understand all the requirements associated with participation in this program. Furthermore, your signature and your child’s indicates your acceptance of those all those terms and conditions, and that you are well aware of the commitment involved in this program.

Dancer:

Being a member of the NDF Dance Company means you will be participating in all scheduled events from September 2022- July 2023. Your commitment to this program means you will be participating in all classes, conventions, competitions and performances during that time. Your commitment to this program means you will come to class each time dressed properly, with appropriate shoes, and ready to learn.
